Say It Aloud
Hearing your own voice say something kind makes it stick — read it out loud and Paussible listens and confirms. Thirty seconds, start to finish. The microphone is used only while you hold the button, recognition runs entirely on your phone, and no audio is ever recorded.
In the app
- Pick an affirmation — yours, or one from the library
- Hold HOLD & SPEAK and say the words out loud
- Paussible confirms you read it — the check is the point, not a grade
Say it wrong? Nothing breaks, nothing scolds. Hold and say it again, or don't.
When to reach for it
- Before something that deserves a kind word from the only voice that's with you all day
- When a written affirmation has gone a bit flat from silent reading
- As a daily warm-up for the way you talk to yourself
The honest part
Self-talk research supports specific, process-focused kindness over generic hype — "I prepared for this" lands better than "I'm amazing". The library leans that way on purpose. What the research does not support is the magic-thinking version of affirmations, and you won't find it here.
